Constrict

Dear Future,

What, if anything, if everything,

Do you hold? Do you grasp so tightly

In your fist that no light of today

Can seep through?

What is it you hide,

You shadow,

            You distort,

                        You fear?

Why do you not want me to know?

Dear Time,

Stop – impossible:

Slow – impossible:

Return – impossible:

Days flicker in your blink,

With hardly enough time to think,

To see,

            To smile,

                        To believe.

Why do you torment me?

Dear Past,

What is perspective with out the future?

Forever mine verse yours.

To be good or to be bad is all,

For better or worse, through the fog

And experience of the viewer,

The patron,

            The manipulated,

                        The giver.

Why do you fade so consciously?

Sincerely,

            Wonder
