Consume You Too

I told you I was sorry.

You thought I was lying.

But it might have been the first true thing we've said to each other in months.

I was sorry.

I was sorry you thought I would put up with the worry.

With the cheating.

With the pain.

With the lies.

I was sorry for how little you really seemed to know me.

Because if you'd known me,

You would have that,

There's a lion inside.

And if you're not careful,

It will consume you too.
