Consumed

Part of me would lasso the moon for you,

the other would shut you out.

This love I had, I don't feel anymore,

like the night, they bring their doubts.

Regret and anger hide behind trees

waiting for you and I.

Watching, their branches reach to touch

but they're gone, erased from time.

I once would have lassoed the moon for you,

now I'm on the other side of the trees,

where the light and you can't touch me anymore.

I know I am finally free.
