Contagion

Today she became a widow

at the hospital arriving to collect his belongings

the virus took his life earlier that day

alone she was as his life slipped away

His health in shambles

he came here but did not intend to stay

There is not control, no one knows the direction

or how to find the way

A woman who left with only the cltohes of her dead husband

walking out of the hospital

tears fall from her eyes

there is no words to comfort

A reality we did not plan for

Exhausted from losing this never ending war,

Please no more
