Contemplation

Timeless book in my hand

Deep hidden meanings to understand

Twinkling stars high above me

Theirs seemingly just as lovely

That’s just what gets me-

Trying to understand the unknown.

But not always can you

ask their maker- truest meanings

only can they fully grasp.

That’s just part of life-

You can try, but you

can’t explain all that is.

Sometimes years will bring clarity,

and others they simply cannot.

Acceptance is where hardship lies-

Acceptance that you don’t know

what is ahead of you-

this life or the next

Acceptance that you truly can’t

see farther than the horizon

Acceptance that you can’t decode

every word on every page

True acceptance that in which

sitting and waiting becomes comfortable

I am not there yet.
