Content. Yet Wishful

I am content yet wishful

I wonder how life is so great.

I hear someone crying for help.

I see someone giving their all.

I want everyone to feel this tall.

I am content yet wishful

I pretend the world is perfect.

I feel the wind caressing my face.

I touch the damp grass in-between my fingers.

I worry that people want this gone.

I cry for a better tomorrow.

I am content yet wishful

I understand that the world isn’t perfect.

I say it will be that way.

I dream for a new day.

I try to help those in need.

I hope I will succeed.

I am content yet wishful
