Continuing Turn

A globe spins on its axis

As the world falters to ruin.

Dreams turn to nightmares

While dawn turns to dusk.

The open expanse of the creative mind,

Barraged by the crushing weight of humanity’s failure,

Dissipates into smoke,

The smog of discarded gun shells.

Filth ravages the seas while the earth is set ablaze

For the benefit of everyday life?

The extinction of previously common species,

Is that what we want?

Whether to take action or concede to futility,

The globe still spins on its axis.
