Contours

From space, you are a speck of dust,

A delicate flower,

Swaying for the amusement of others,

Underestimated to the point of insult

From across the horizon, you are but a wave

Having yet to make a ripple in the world

You have much time still, young grasshopper

In a classroom, you are the teacher

And we, the students

Give a girl a pencil and paper,

She'll get that diploma on the wall

But give her a voice and an idea,

She'll move mountains, I promise you

You are more than your silhouette,

An ominous shadow in the corner

You have substance

Idiosyncrasies

Thoughts

Hopes

Dreams

Desires

You are more than your contours,

The lines that make up your form

You are blood and marrow,

Heart and Strength,

A human masterpiece
