Contradict and Lie
I will never fall for such things
Only fools do, love is just a fling
But he is different he cares more than anyone can
Contradict and lie
While my mind is on this constant lullaby
He likes me, but he is to shy
Dream about him touching my hair
Even my mind can't keep him on hold
Don't give me that soft smile
You don't know what it does to me for a long while
Contradict and lie
A hypocrite is my personality
Showing a nonchalant person hiding a desperate lover
A romantic that keeps replaying the same tape in my head
Why did you have to be so pretty?
It is such a pity
A pity that I watch you so close
A pity that I have my mouth tied into notches
I can't, I won't
It's absurd, a wild dream I knew from the beginning I will wake up from
But those flashing blue eyes keep begging me to speak
And I cannot control my inside heat
That is boiling for a release
Who would fall for these dumb cliches?
Contradict and lie
That I can't feel a thing when you walk by
That my heart doesn't melt at your sight
That my ears haven't been on alert for your voice for a hint of your scent
But I can't
So I contradict and pretend
That I hate the way you smile
Or the way your mouth shapes when you say something funny
That I hate the way your self confidence is leaking
And how you poke your nose into everything
And how you get all messed up after work
Or how you say my name
God keep me sane
Contradict and lie
With my thoughts bottled up inside my head
So tight I will never see them take action in this life
But maybe in another one instead
Something wrong with this poem?
