Contradictions

Where in the world is justice?

We speak of it.

We hear of it.

Is there one who might consider

Using actions and less words?

Where in the world is love?

We dream of it.

We sing of it.

Is there one who might consider

Giving a hug and maybe two?

Where in the world is hope?

We write of it.

We walk from it.

Is there one who might consider

Showing a smile and not a frown?

Where in the world is courage?

We turn from it.

We shudder in it.

Is there one who might consider

The glory of valor over trifling matters?

Is there someone who might consider

Performing the virtue instead of the speech?

We need less speakers.

We need more activity.
