Control
Wish I could do it on my own, Full stop!
I know I'm not 'Fully grown,' but I'm also not a mop.
For you to push and pull and twist and turn,
Leave me alone even if sometimes I have to burn.
I mean, if I burn I'll learn; but who are you to try and discern?
Discern right from wrong; whether I'm weak or strong.
Whether life's short or long; whether or not to sing my song.
I know you mean the best and the best is understood,
But you have me in a 24 hour test and I'm doing the best I could.
But... do you see that? No! All you see is a mat and that's fact.
Not clean, though, but dirty; unseen, unworthy.
'Mummy and Daddy,' I've never felt so insecure before..
'Cuz you make me feel like I'm nothing more than the dust on the floor.
But I know I'm worth more; I'm a 100% score.
I'm no longer unsure; Yes, 2 + 2 IS 4 and horror movies ARE full of gore.
Many times satan comes knockin at my back door asking me to give myself to him,
But, no, I try my best to shun sin.'
Do you see that? No, but I see my win!
I mena there's this one thing, "to sing,"
One glorious thing. Great joy, to me, it brings.
Do you see that? No, you see too much.
Too much tasks for me to pursue.
Don't you see the tears. The tears watermarked upon this page?
Don't you see the fear enscribed on my face?
I don't express this with haste, but rather, great sorrow.
Because I feel like my life's going to waste and there's not gonna be a better tomorrow...
