Control (Lack Thereof) - in the format of Iambic Tetrameter

There are many things in this world

in which impact daily functions.

That waver capability,

char one’s faith and churn one’s stomach.

But —

       Which of them are recurring?

How many of these things are out

of reach? Who controls what happens?

Full bliss comes only when we take

initiative and recognize

our limits. To dispose so much

time and stress and energy and

effort over concepts that are

irrelevant in terms of how

much control that we have over

which of them happen to us is

wasteful, degrading, and pointless.

To spend time making the best of

any situation that one’s

put in, that may possibly be

unavoidable, is so much

more beneficial towards your soul.

To learn to not care is nothing

but freeing. Uncontrollables

can change your life but only if

you’re willing to let them enact.
