The Conundrum before the Afterlife

Most people believe that we came into this world alone,

we leave alone and we walk our paths alone.

Our possessions are a memento to our walk amongst the living.

If this is true then which possession is most valuable

The ancient Egyptians believed in burying their possessions

How then do they decide which possession to take to the afterlife

If asked what is most important to me in the world,

I simply cannot answer nor can I tell you what is most dear to me

I could not imagine what I most need in the afterlife.
