Conversation

The sender conceived
and encoded the question
while the receiver daydreamed
in distracted reflection

the receiver received
and ran the code through
a broken machine;
what could they do?

The sender, impatient,
gave up on their task
with a final affront,
“I’m sorry I asked.”

The receiver, confused
retreated into their shell
 and in misery, mused
“I think this is hell”
