Conversation

“How can I say this with the utmost thought”, I began.

“You cannot”, she said at the knowing of my speech.

“But, as you say talk truth.” What was I to do if not?

“You must not speak ill of those who can not say otherwise”. She told me in that voice that made my eyes roll.

“What of those that say otherwise?” I spoke with question.

“Then you shall speak ill and you shall talk terrible.” She gave me the look of hell in a child’s hold.
