Conversation with Fear

Let nothing stop you, not even fear
When it starts to speak ignore like it isn’t there
Give it no attention for its intentions are not good
Get far away from it, run away if you could

For its tongue is that of sliver
Drawing you into deceit
When you stand up, it would tell you to take a seat
Saying, “who are you intending to do what you have not tried”
“You better give up now before you get toasted and even fried”

“Oh death, it seems like I want you to come onto me”
“Oh yes, it is I, who call upon thee”
“Can’t you see I am heading to my doom”

“If I mess up what won’t they think I am stupid and a buffoon”
As I about to do something new that may cost me my life.
There is nothing worse than this not even worse than strife

Speaking of which
“Oh misfortunes and discord, can’t you see I am about to lose all my friends”
I am about to do something new but act as if I have experience
I hope I don’t mess up

For if I do then they would see my pretense

This feeling is so tense
That makes me about to fall
I remember what my 8th-grade teacher told me, “be confident and stand up tall”

As I am about to run
This sport looks easy and trusts it isn’t that fun

Running for hours

I am only happy when it is done
The best part of all is when you won

Oh fear, shut up it is my time for me to run
Okay, Divine don’t freeze and have fun

What are you talking about

“You know what I am talking about”
That last meet, you froze
Like a little deer shaking in the cold

Try not to repeat the same mistake
Before they look down upon you like you are a disgrace

It seems like you tend to surprise everyone coming up with something crazy and new
First, you freeze
Then I bet you will fall on your face

And when that happens don’t forget to come to me and tell me how the floor tasted

Shut up fear and leave me alone

For you don’t control me and I am not your own

For you focus too much on the past

You think I would get scared

But you are wrong, for I am Divine and I have no fear

For failure is nor my enemy, for you are

You do nothing but limit me

Reminding me of all the bad and trying to destroy my destiny

Failure teaches me, so I can do better

For success is almost here

I can feel coming nearer.
