Big guy said it’s not worth it

I am wasting my time pretending to be something I am not

Then sadness agrees

And a few others shared their opinions.

Only a tiny squeaky voice told me to hold on,

Push harder and never give up

But I can hardly hear her

Her voice was drowning among the hoarse harsh pitch of everyone else

Now big guy was shouting

He had a burst of anger

“HOLD ON UNTO WHAT!” “WAIT ON WHAT!”

Sadness agreed and almost brought me to tears

Now they were fussing, it was getting really loud

Big Guy said “Just do it, morphine is in your bag”

“Yall get the hell outta ma head!” I shouted

And now all the people at the conference table were looking at me

In a very strange way

I rushed to the bathroom and tried to compose myself

I tried to shush the voices in my head

Though I already knew, very soon I am going to obey Big Guy.
