Conversations with Myself in the A.M.

I sit up at night

thinking of what could've been

and who I should be.

Sometimes, it makes

me smile while others

cause me to wallow

in despair. I am

lost looking for an answer

I will not find here.

This occurred for a

long time. It would leave me to

question my value,

my beliefs, my friends,

my everything. My mind

became wrapped around

this idea of what

is believed to be perfect.

Hate that word.

But a light shined in

barely through the cracks of

this shell I was en-

closed in. Little by

little, it started to get light-

er. As it became

light, I realize that

what I felt I was missing

was around me all

along. I just needed

to be more open to the

world surrounding me.
