Conversations With Strangers

Conversation with strangers

Young man with eyes so green,

with stories on your sleeves

Was it love and pain,

Or the thrill of freedom

Dear unknown

Reserved,

Hiding in plain sight

Why do you hide

Behind that baseball cap

Beloved John,

 the words you write

Do you write of me,

Do you write of the world

Perhaps you write to the world.

Precious Jane,

You look lost,

With faded blue jeans

Do not fade

You are not lost.

Valued strangers,

The stories you tell unbeknownst,

Tell me more than written or spoken word

More than these pages

Surrounding me ever could.

Cherished nameless,

We are one,

These words I write

caught in the rain.

Sincerely

-          you
