Conviction

Convictions.   We live with convictions.

Good or bad, atrocious or sad.

It's said that the quality of one's convictions determines one's succcess, not the quantity of followers

But aren't we supposed to follow the crowd? Stay in the mix, and conform to the norm?

Ladies, you spend all this time listening to the noise, puting on make up, trying to impress the boys

But in the end does it matter?

You are beautiful.

Guys, you spend all your time goofing off and trying to be the shit

But this is high school, once you leave that's it.

Then who are you?

When you look at yourself deep down what do you see?

I'm just the guy going out of his way trying to deliver a message, but you don't have to be like me.

Everyone has a different story, a different upbringing, and a different mold.

So why should you stand in line and just do everything you're told?

What you're told isn't always right and what is right isn't always told

Are you going to be the one to make things right? Will you be bold?

You don't have to be extraverted to do this no, you need you

You need to take a second to understand you and understand the morals that you hold most true

This isn't me preaching to the choir, this is one man delivering facts

No matter who you are, if your convictions are sound, you can kick some ass

And I'm not talking about confrontation, I'm talking about vicing a grip on your life

We're called the "Lost Generation", left hopeless in a sea of alcohol and drugs, unable to strife

But that's not true.  There are kids like you, like me, all just trying to walk our own path don't you see?

Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, we all make a splash in this little pond

You don't take your chances and risk things, your opportunity will be gone

It's not a cold world but that I know is true

So take some time to really think about you

It's okay to make mistakes and It's okay to mess up

Learning from those mistakes is exactly how we all grow up

It's a wonderful life we live and we get one chance before we die

So just take some time to know you, success will come with your stride.
