Convince Me I'm Wrong

I look in the mirror but I don't see a face

I don't see a person or a creature or anything with life

I am an inanimate object

The sound of the fan turning fades out

My roommate's words in the kitchen go silent

I hear nothing

I feel nothing

I see nothing

I think nothing

I am nothing

I stop breathing

I stop caring whether I blink and my eyes dry out

I don't ever want to move

I want to blink out of existence

I don't matter

I am only matter

I am atoms and strings and things that break apart with time

My time is up

I am completely shattered

I'll die tonight like I've died every day for 3 years

But this time I won't wake up

This time I'll be free of me

And free of life

And life, of me

My life is shit

I don't want to live

I mean nothing

It's best if I die

Can I do it?

Can you do it?

Can you convince me I'm wrong?
