That Cool Breeze

A cold rush sweeps over your face and you know night has arrived. You welcome its arrival and its hush that has silenced all noise except for some distant sound that goes unnoticed in your mind. That cool breeze brushes your face again. This time you close your eyes and smile. Your mind goes back to an easier time and you remember how happy your ignorance made you. "One more day," you wish. And one more day, you never got. "It won't happen," you remember, but you still wish it would. You remember again those easier, happier times. That cool breeze brushes your face once more, and you're back. You smile as you brush aside your tears and realize the night is slipping away.
