COOL WATER

COOL WATER

~ by Debi Lyn

04/19/18

Soon three days we will have faced this awful place without the taste

of water: cool water.

My kid and I with throats so dry that now we cry

for water: cool - clear -- water.

~*~

The nights are cool, and I'm no fool. There is no pool

of water: cool water.

With each dawn, I wake and yawn and truly long

for water: cool - clear -- water.

~*~

I just knew they'd say, "We can't come today," & so tonight we pray

for water: cool water.

The Lord will hear our prayer and restore this desert air

with water: cool - clear -- water.

~*~

Keep on hopin man, don't you worry 'bout it man.

The devil will do whatever he can; he has no plan

for water.

Ohh can it be? Can you see? Yes, water's finally running free!

And it's waiting there for you and me --

water: coooool... cleeear... waaaater!

I've come across some poems I wrote in the past. I hope/assume it's ok to share those as well. Thx
