Cope

Why'd you have to go

You seemed so strong

I never saw this happening to you

Maybe they were all wrong.

I remeber when I was little

You'd hold me tight and say

you'll make something of yourself

I hope I'm here to see that day.

And in our morning walks

Down Charter street and Fourth

Through little down Dekalb

You'd whisper quietly

Do you know just what you're worth?

It wasn't til two years ago

I found out what was wrong

Cancer had taken over you

Your hug is what I longed.

It's now time to day goodbye

but I'll see you again I hope

For no one can take my memories

and I'll just have to cope.
