The Copycat Mold
Assimilation, desperation, and confrontation are all fears of that girl I once knew
Fitting in was no longer a goal but a mission, you must not stick out you must fit in
Observe, listen, and watch those are the skills you need to be in the clique
Fear of being alone drove her insane with self-hate, doubt and disappointment.
Nothing but a few nuts and bolts that could not work without the fuel of others
She was a vessel of everyone else’s thoughts but her own, no longer able to tell what her voice was from the voice of others
She was blinded by the mission she made for herself, she didn’t realize all this time she was walking in the shadows of sand pits that swallowed her whole
Intuition and her mother’s angered disposition caused a change in the so called “mission”
The goals where finally coming into perspective but It still felt like something was missing
The glottis seemed out of commission and she thought that she might have a speaking condition
A transition from perm to natural caused a bombard of questions
I found the fire that powered my spirt
I had to answer questions about my hair and defend myself against the Little Bill comments
Maturity and confidence saturated my being and I never would have expected such a miniscule change could metamorphosize that little girl into the young women she is today
