Philippians 3:8 

⁸ More than that, I now regard all things as liabilities compared to

the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,

for whom I have suffered the loss of all things—

indeed, I regard them as dung!—that I may gain Christ,

Core value

A value is a perception

that waits for an open door

to show itself without restraint

to be validated more and more

A value can be very high

and more often less than right

Interpretation rests with folks we meet

as we slidder in their sight

But all that glitters is not gold

though at first glance fools the more

It is like stories often told

that the outside doesn’t show the core

So to write in part to convince the flock

about core values and what they mean

only truth survives that shock

as hypocrisy disappears unseen
