Corner of My Eye

In my dark window, all I can see
Is my shadow staring back at me
I look past in the street below
They're out there, don't you know?
Monsters crawling around from the depths below

The unknown grips my very being
Only God knows what I may be seeing
In my head, the eyes misleading
Shadows in the corner of my vision
I shut my eyes, heeding intuition

They're not real, I know they're not
Or am I just too young and have forgot?
Are the demons real?
No, that mindset has no appeal
I feel my fears begin to reel

The chains that bound me are no more
As I walk through my open door
Into the hallway, I have no fright
I bask in the night's delight
Knowing that there is no reason
To be scared of the night.
