Coronavirus
The sun rises
There the sun has set
As I get up and walk
They fall and struggle
As I prepare to celebrate
They prepare to fight
As I pray in the temple for luck
They pray to live
As I go out for Chinese New Year
They stay home, waiting, worrying, crying
As I sit here writing a poem
hundreds are gone
Thousands are sick
These aren’t numbers
These are people
People who are parents
People who are grandparents
People who are kids
As the dark unfolds light sparks in the distance
In the distance you see the true heroes
The heroes who are strong
The heroes who are confident
The heroes who are trying to save lives
These heroes have family
These heroes have friends
But they sacrifice their time for others
The most important
The most useful
The most loved gift on earth
Time
As the heroes fight
There are those who are racist
There are those who laugh
There are those who think this is a funny
They are uneducated
They are ignorant
They are stupid
They are ungrateful of the time they have right now
The time millions would want to use to celebrate Lunar new year
The time millions would want to use for being with love one
The time millions wish would last forever
We need to stop acting stupid
We need to love each other
And We need to be optimistic
That’s how we will get through this storm
The storm that will stop killing
Mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers,
The storm will not continue making us scared, panic, and depressed
Wuhan will kill it!
China will kill it!
We will kill it!
We can do it.
