Corruption

The world is corrupted and it all has to stop
There are governors and leaders who don't give a flop
They're in it for the money not the care of me or you
And this movement is far from fresh or new
Because honestly these people have turned the world into a zoo
Bribery, theft, and blackmail: some methods to name
It just kills me to read about this, my expressions are of pain
I've been waiting too long and it's time to rise as one
It only takes a single person, the revolution has begun
Because I'm gonna be that kid, I'm gonna change this life
No more pain or misery, cruelty, or strife
The world is corrupted and it all has to stop
Like the shifty leader or the shady local cop
I have but one question that I need to ask: why?
Is it even worth fighting for or should I just lay down and die?
But there's always light at the end of the tunnel
Is that phrase even true?
Because what is happiness when all I feel is blue?
But one can only hope
That the corruption will be gone and I will no longer mope.
