The Cost of separation, the Appeal to Division

Equality, the slumbering ravine, it peels away creativity

Until we all are sleep, pushing the game

The recurring game of catch up, until when we catch up it is no longer sweet

Cultivating a public black voice

Motivation is the foundation to progression

Knowledge of black power is our weapon; to shoot back is your choice

Pure art lies in our color our race make a change keep the pace

Parents pushing kids to get a job, earn a place

But Knowledge is the way

Yet we continue ignorantly in a race

A race to entertain in a racist entertainment

So who are we?

We are the founders of change on this earth

Not a generation of thugs, or fresh girls who “twerk”

In the shadows our culture lurks

But we are dictators

We stimulate wildly weak and untrained minds

We are the creators of this nation

It is a peculiar sensation to live our lives in character basing

We are the roots

The task is to find and trace them

The cost of liberty is less than the price of repression

So press in, press into the fine line we’ve let become tradition

We are prisoners of the mind

This isn’t an act

This is our lives

We can’t divide unless for the divine

Too transparent so see through into the broken mirror until you see you

Your courts in case now make your place

Race and gender inequality I’m not fond of thee

I’m just the light the guide to liberty I’m the prodigy

There is no need for any people to wear their pride beneath

Show us that path with in

We can cut off these freedom deciders like pathogens

So you paths ascend and that paths descend

Caged in minds are sick

Their deep engraved in graves as wide as time decides if we are truly free

And let our minds collide to defy the lies and in sync people, we can not father lies

Flee these false gods of government and uncover the scheme

We love American for the American dream, home of the free a lie that we believed

So why raise my hands up high in submission like I’m praising god

If we are equal minds

Welcome to the prisoners of the mind
