Count Your Blessings
Life was a sea, blessed with possibility,
It all gave me a sense of tranquility.
Giving me opportunity to find what I pleased,
Allowing me to flourish from a simple seed.
Then the ocean became dark and black,
I express to everyone the love that I lack.
Ripping at my soul and taking everything away,
Nothing would ever be the same way.
Anything was better than the anger I felt,
The life that I had, began to melt.
Pain ripping at my heart like swords of steel,
I was given the curse that forbid me to heal.
Pain never stopped its lurking,
And I needed to stop the hurting.
The bells in my heart began to ring,
And so began the journey to stop the sting.
I prayed and prayed for the peace I needed,
I found serenity in all that I pleaded.
God granted me my selfish wishes,
Oh how I miss her butterfly kisses.
But I live life today in happiness and love,
I feel her looking from above.
My dreams are what bring her back to me,
She was striking, leaving you weak at the knees.
She will be remembered for all that shes done,
Sick in bed, she tried her best to have fun.
She's out of her suffering, is all that keeps me okay,
Because she was taken away.
I was left with strength that can never be taken,
But this had left my soul heavily forsaken.
I grow from what I was,
To show the world the man from above.
Thank God for my family who loves me dear,
When life did nothing but bring me fear.
I'm so happy to be here and say to you,
Count your blessings, your graces are past due.
