Counting My Blessings

When I'm down in the dumps

and things don't seem so great

I pause for a second;

I take a second and wait.

I think to myself

"This isn't so bad."

I think to myself

"Look at all the things that you have."

I have air in my lungs

and eyes that can see.

I have a style and a swagger

that are so perfectly me.

I have parents who loves me.

I have friends who care.

I have a home to call mine

and my favorite stuffed bear.

I have my favorite book that I read

from cover to cover.

I have a hot meal each night

thanks to my mother.

Both of my legs can walk,

Both of my ears can hear

and that's enough for me

to realize that I'm lucky to be here.

Bad days come

and bad days go.

If there's one thing I've learned

it's to go with the flow.

Take a step back

and give endless praise

for everything you have

and what you could make.

This life is a gift.

Stop your stressing.

Live for today

and count your blessings.
