The Couple

Location

She sat there cross-legged,

And he sat there looking at her.

They had a fight.

He wanted to apologize,

He wanted to see her thoughts.

He smiled foolishly,

She looked at him in disgust.

He couldn’t think of anything to say,

Then, he had an idea.

Leaning forward,

Pushing his glasses back to his nose,

He said something like this,

“When I think of you,

I see a cloud in the sky.

I see a cheerio in a bowl.

I see something new and exciting.

And I see these things because,

You’re one in a million.

And that’s why I love you.”
