Course of Life
In rough and woe,
Life ran its course.
That inner voice,
My being’s source.
Had yearned to speak,
But no mind had paid,
Until golf responded,
And new hope was made.
Since youth compelled,
To be finally known,
To be understood,
That the Greens are home.
My heart and soul,
Attend each drive,
I breathe—I hope,
Stay in!—alive.
I find my rest,
Among woods and sands,
Through one place I roam,
Through many lands.
So much at stake,
To lead in score,
Par must I break,
Or I’m done—fore!
And when sets the sun,
And I must leave my tee,
My mind remains,
Where it welcomes me.
