The Court

The Court is my place to breath

Not only do I feel relief

when I hear the swish of the three

I seem the think more clearly

as my mind is cleared from this negitivity.

A terrible loss from an unlikely foe

leaves coach red-faced after the twenty point blow

As he gave the lecture about being tough minded

My mind couldnt help but be confined

I knew the next day in practice would be hell

but from the look on coaches face, I couldnt really tell

With cup in hand and a smile on his face

Coach said "fellas, today is the day"

he said we will no longer be weak at will

then introduced us to the first new drill.

As I grabbed the ball, aliitle mad

I looked at my teammates in front of me, holding the pads

when the whistle blew, and I went to the basket

James layed me out, as if I was in a casket

as they smothered me straight into the ground

I was relieved to hear the whistle sound.

I went home that day, feeling small

I knew I had to Get back up and stand tall

I relized I had to grow up if I wanted a change

and grow up I did as my next opportunity came
