A Cousin

Hair ties and skirts all around

All but sisters I see

No guy to play with or share a sound

No brother or cousin...none for me

Born and raised with my family I was,

Not I but God can save me now,

Alone I sat all in my flaws,

To Mexico here I go now,

Leaving behind the life I knew

Awaits for me a cousin at last

To my surprise a boy I saw, my smile grew

The time I spent, we had a blast

Straight in the eye, I look at him

"A brother", I thought, I finally had

Sadness crawled up my limb

My smile left, as I was sad

I have to leave, not now but soon

To my life, where all is black

In the summer I will return, maybe May...maybe June

I tell you now...

I will be back
