Covalent Bond
Put a band aid on your heart,
press the button to restart.
Let it heal itself,
and restore its health.
Feed on hoarded wealth
from the hopes of those who fell.
You ripped my hearts out at the seams,
then your crushed my hopes and dreams.
A gorgeous fantasy,
a place where I could flee.
But you took that away from me.
And I know, I know, I know
you're gone.
And I hope you know
that you were by covalent bond.
But sometimes I think,
I held on for too long.
