Cover your face and hide

Cover your face and hide away

The world doesn't seem to care

You yell and scream to no avail

Then try to get away

The darkness comforts you but then

You see you're on your own again

No one's looking for you now

All alone inside and out

They can't see what's wrong with me

They wouldn't understand

Don't they care what's wrong with me?

Or must I hold it all in?

Supression feeds upon my soul

But I want to be whole!

Wholly happy, wholly alive

And wholly able to survive

My only hope now is to pen

These griefs that come again and again

I pray for solace as I seek

To sort my thoughts and my beliefs

There in pen, as set in stone

My arguments and hatred shown

I hope to leave them there and run

Far away and never return

This loneliness is too much to bear

I write my pain and leave it there

I hope someone will find it then

Maybe begin to understand
