Covered Skin
You see me covering my skin,
But you don't know why,
You see the long sleeves and long pants,
You glimpse the bruises underneath,
You see me covering my skin,
You seem to think you why,
Until you glimpse the missing skin,
You see me covering my skin,
You seem to think you know why,
Until you see the blood dripping down my wrist,
You see me covering my skin,
You don't know the truth,
So you create lies in its place.
