Squalls send seagulls flapping away,
billowing Nimbus bides his war
‘til darkness. Throaty caws
from the sinews of a power line
mark the claps of his raucous call.
Phoenix flies from the depths
of black, hair flying to windward grasp.
Teeth bared with fire-lit eyes.
Night – day - night again.
Face chilled by frosty glass.
Rain slashes while I endure
the washing of my panes.
