And eventually she’ll just lay down

and stay damp for a while;

sleeping in sweet peace

at rest from the thinking, thinking, thinking…

While moss creeps, crawls and crinkles over her toes

and bugs tickle her skin

and leaves cover her shell;

you’ll either join her, or let her go

back to the earth

where she belongs.
