Crack of Thunder

A dark night, imprinted in my memory

My dreams crushed in seconds

Soccer is something true to me

A way of life since I was four

That night changed everything

My leg swings back in hopes of a goal

My leg does not reach the ball

Crack

Was there thunder?

No.  The bones in my legs were shattered like my dreams

Time passed so slowly

Minutes felt like days

What was true to me was no more
