The cracked sea glass

Once upon a time has never really brought us back to a time ones could ever truly understand. The beautiful girl lost her glass slipper. The prince found comfort in a shoe. He found stability and truth. He found love in a translucent object. People love what they can't really see. They find each other and live happily ever after. What if you had your glass slipper and your prince at the same time? Nothing was ever lost, everything was just found and the word fate was seen so highly in the lovers eyes.

We were in love. We went to the beach, we loved the beach. We sat on the sand and ran our hands through the tiny particles of unknown materials. We let the sun take our complection into a new light. It brought freckles to the surface of our faces. He loved my freckles. We found broken sea glass. All different colors. I found broken beer bottles and he laughed, I was never really good at finding things I've never really needed. We came home and put the sea glass in a vase for decoration.

We take broken sea glass for granted. We look past the small word “we’’, because no it's just me. We found love and broken pieces and we could never truly put that back together. Sea glass come froms all different areas. All now washed up on different beaches. To never be put together again. Now they lay in a vase in a broken home, but they are finally made whole.
