Cracked Sidewalks

“It will all work out in the end,” she said.

She said it with confidence in her eyes,

Like she knew of no greater truth than this

The one thing she clung to at the darkest of times.

After all, the sun does rise each tomorrow

And stories end in happily ever after,

There is a top to each large mountain

And He died but lived three days later.

Paths pursued in life are not straightforward

There are cracks we are to follow in the sidewalk,

That when taken can become a stunning map

When you choose to look forward and never turn back.

There is never a stumbling block too great

Or a struggle seemingly impossible to the valiant,

Trials and tribulations will come, yes

But, strength is found the moment you decide to be resilient.

“It will all work out in the end,” she said.

She said it with each tiresome step,

Her foot in front of the other.

Forward, ever forward she would lead--

This was a truth she would never, could never forget.
