From Cradle to Crawl Space

From cradle to crawl space

It seems her mother stopped loving her

Because lately she's been slapping her around

And Jenny's head hangs low to the ground

Which is a damn shame because the kid has so much to live for

Even if her mom would have her think differently

Calling her beautiful daughter a dirty whore

Because she talks to boys at school

Even though Jenny's got tunnel vision on her future medical career

Because her mom's vice grip has her in perpetual fear

That there is no time to truly enjoy being a kid

Yes Mrs. Nguyen, I hear you claim to love your daughter

And I know we come from different places

But at the moment, we share living spaces

And your verbal assaults and stinging blows make for lousy parenting

So perhaps you could pull the breaks on the unrelenting,

Harsh judgements directed toward your gifted child

Because soon she's going to think she isn't worth much

In case you failed to notice, she's already losing touch

With the fact that she is special.

Where is the light in her life when she thinks no one cares for her?

And why shouldn't she use that knife where smiling is a trying chore?

So to cradle out from crawl space,

Love your dauhter before she is gone

Without a trace.
