Crashing Waves

There's a boy down by the beach
Just sits on the dock all day.
Looking for something beyond his reach,
Waiting for God to show him the way.

Everything's gone wrong
And he just doesn't feel as strong.
He thinks his life has no purpose,
So he just sits on the dock
As time ticks and tocks,
Just waiting for the answer
While the waves crash beneath him.

He met a girl a few summers back
Fell in love, but it didn't last.
Tried to figure out what he lacked,
He just can't seem to put it in his past.

His life's like a wave, crashing all the time.
He sits there pretending everything is fine,
Waiting for someone to show him a sign,
But his life is like the ocean.
There's always too much commotion,
He's going out of his mind.

He let life pass him by,
Wasted everything on that dock.
Always waiting for the answer,
That never came.
