Craving
Craving
Hannah Bubar
I take a look in the mirror and wonder,
What is it about me that guys don’t like what they see?
Everyone has a fear of rejection,
Well you see it always happens to me,
Because I am not the definition of perfection.
Is the reason why guys don’t like me is because I’m not easy?
Easy as lemon squeezy, my heart
Squeezing because I want love, but can’t seem to find it.
I know I’m young, but what’s wrong with wanting to feel loved?
Maybe guys do like me but they’re scared.
Scared because they see something in me that I have yet to see.
Is it my maturity or is it my
Insecurities that come and go that turn them off?
A monster I don’t wanna turn,
Is something that I have learned,
My heart always yearns and burns,
So passionately.
Do you have the audacity to tell me that you do not
Have the capacity in your heart for a relationship?
Yes I’m sure sex is fun and great,
But you’re acting like a chimp, trying to mate.
Well, I just want more than that.
I want equal.
Equal passion, respect, love, loyalty,
The list goes on.
I want love that is painfully beautiful.
The love where you don’t ever want to see the end,
A love that is warm, and recognizable,
And undeniably wonderful.
I know guys like me,
But they don’t want to tell me.
They know I’m good, so they’re scared.
Scared to ruin me.
Well honey, trust me. I’ll be fine. I’ve been to Hell and back for years.
I know teens are not supposed to be this adamant on finding the true purpose of
Life and love,
But I have this insatiable craving,
A craving to live.
My dreams are not enough, I need action.
Especially romantically.
If you freaking like me, then just tell me! Take your shot!
I’ve taken my shot at people I liked God knows how many times.
Yes I was rejected the majority of those times, but I’m okay.
It only tells me about who those people are.
I know I’m enough, and beautiful inside and out.
I’m ready to live and love.
So if you are able to handle me,
And you feel the same way, just come and find me.
Tell me you like me already,
I promise I’m not that scary.
