Cravings

Why long for something when it cannot be yours.

It is simply someone else’s, but by choice.

You crave for them to look at you,

You want to see the pupils dilate, to see you better.

Though they are not someone else’s, they choose to be still.

How can you compete with the one,

who is everything you’re not?

You simply cannot. You are left hopeless.

Oh the pain of craving. You start starving.

No one else compares to them.

So no one else is edible anymore.

Hope still stands, but it takes too much to be fed.

Love is hunger and love is pain. It simply makes you insane.

Though you may try, you won’t succeed.

But do not starve dear child,

One day the platter will serve itself, be patient.
