Created From Their Dreams

I am thousands of years in creation
So many before have walked, ran and fallen for the chance for me to
Stand
I am a conglomeration of success and failure
Of trillions of small decisions
That created me
That created the person I was years ago
The person that I am
That I’ll be
Even though these people are hard to reconcile at times
I am a glimmer in my ancestors' eyes
As they look over me and watch me
Watch me accomplish their wildest dreams
Dreams they didn’t even let themselves hope would come true
And yet here I am
Solid on the foundation they set for me
Ready to continue building a foundation for the people ahead of me
To become the inspiration of the future
That the past has given me
