Creation

I've found that when I create something

with my hands, and eyes, and thoughts

I am connecting

not just with myself

but, also

expressing my mind and message to everyone else.

for me-- it's art.

Always paper

sometimes ink or watercolor

but always paper.

I like the way it smells

the way it feels

The way I feel.

I'm going to college for art.

My dad said that my talent is "raw"

I'm hoping that is a compliment.

If I am to become the scatter-brained artist I'm craving to be

my fingers will stay trained on a vision

no more procrastination

(a favorite pastime of mine).

Only French berets

and palettes to hold my acrylics.

I could become something.

A symbol.

The scripture that I've been trying to read.

The lyrics I've forgotten to remember.

A being who utilized her existence.
